Fox and Squirrel offer Forest School packages for schools and one off events. Having worked across a number of organisations and sites we have developed a style of forest schooling that nurtures a child’s natural curiosity for the world around them, allowing us to create free-flowing, child centred forest school experiences. Although we can tailor activities toward curriculum aims, we also have fundamental aims of the sessions that relate to all age groups:
Our Forest School sessions can include fire lighting, map making, orienteering, cooking over fire, green woodwork, natural arts and crafts, bug and species identification, shelter building and team building games.
Our Forest School leaders are qualified Level 2 practitioners, with outdoor first aid and a full first aid kit including a burns kit. Where tools are used we have sufficient PPE for children, young people and supporting adults as appropriate. We have risk assessments for all offered activities which can be adapted. We undertake a free site visit prior to the sessions in order to create specific risk assessments for your site.
